African American Scrapbooking Supplies

by SteveWednesday, May 05, 2004

A new ecommerce site provides African-Americans the ability to make their own personalized memories with multi-cultural scrapbooking supplies. Nene's Creations, at www.nenescreations.com, offers paper, stickers, die-cuts and frames featuring people of color.

President Sandra "Nene" Norris, a long-time scrapbooker, founded the business after becoming frustrated in her attempt to find the perfect supplies for her hobby. "I could find borders and papers with people of color, but they literally were the same mainstream designs just painted brown. I wanted features and distinctions that truly reflect my life and my heritage."

Armed with graphic design programs and illustrators, Norris created a line of scrapbooking products specifically designed for African-Americans. All the characters are of color and have corresponding ethnic features. In addition to holidays and events all scrapbookers commemorate, like a new baby, graduation and holidays, she included papers for barbecues and beauty shops -- sites of gatherings particularly of interest to many in the African-American community.

Memory Book for Dogs

by SteveWednesday, May 05, 2004

For those of you wanting a memory book for your dog, look no further. "It's My Dog's Life", is a colorful "baby book" for dogs. According to its press release:

The delightful fill-in-the-blank style book is fun, easy to use, and practical as well. It includes a growth chart, pages to maintain a permanent record of your dog's medical history and a quick reference area for emergency contacts. The die-cut window on the book cover allows the pet's photo to be placed on the title page, showing through to create a very personalized cover. The 48-page book has 18 ruled pages specifically for posting photos, memorabilia or journal entries. Other pages include "Special Firsts" where you can choose from multiple choice answers identified with check-boxes in the shape of doghouses to document the first shoe your dog chewed, your dog's first reactions to thunder, fireworks, the vacuum cleaner and seeing his reflection. More fun-filled pages like "First "Birthday," "First Christmas," "Vacation Trips," and even a page for the dog's "Paw Prints" ensure a lifetime journal of memories.
