The National Post has an interesting report on the business of professional scrapbooking:
Here's the deal. According to scrapbooking business maven Sue DiFranco, there are big bucks to be made assembling scrapbooks for busy, stupid rich people.
Well, she doesn't exactly put it that way, but on her Fun Facts Publishing Web site she explains that you can earn between $50 and $150 an hour scrapbooking, with virtually no set-up cost. Some people, she says, prefer to "hire out" their scrapbooking, much like they would pay professional organizers or house cleaners, rather than learn how to do it themselves.

I've been considering a professional scrapbooker to do compile a book of my family. I work fifty hours a week, and I have two children under the age of two. I simply don't have the time and want to have a keepsake. I find your comment to be offensive, and I think you should think carefully before judging others. I am neither rich, or stupid, I just want preserve the memories of my childrens' youth.

I absolutley agree with the previous comment. I also work full time, with three small children and do scrap my own books... I was looking for some help on my wedding album. I would never hire such an ignorant person such as yourself.

My wife is an outstanding scrapbooker and I keep telling her to go professional. I think she is going to finally look into this. If you want some very good quality work and are still looking, contact me. She used to teach at a scrapbooking store and I always tease her that she has a store upstairs in our house!! :) She is good. Let me know if you are interested. watts01@gmail.com

I have been scrapbooking since 1997 (wow - how the industry has changed in a decade) and I am now doing scrapbooking projects for others. My rates are very reasonable. I have taught scrapbooking classes at JoAnn's and been hired for many projects for others. I could send you jpg samples of my work by email if you are interested. And for the record... I agree. Just because you don't have a lot of time to put into scrapbooking doesn't categorize anyone as rich or stupid. If you are interested in contacting me you can do so at luv2scrap@wi.rr.com

I LOVE to scrapbook and have pretty much finished everything I have of my own. If anyone is looking for help, I would love to help! If anyone is interested feel free to email me. I am just getting started with this but have LOTS of time this summer and won't charge much since I am just starting to do this for other people. Email me at heatherhimmer@gmail.com if you are interested! Thanks!

I have also been considering a career as a Professional Scrapbooking Artist. I do not agree with the rich/stupid people comment either. I have been scrapbooking for about 10 years and also work 50 hours a week for a grocery store. I am thinking about stepping down from that position to start my business. on.the.vyrj@earthlink.net
