FunPhotor v.3.5 - Family Photo Blending Tool

by SteveWednesday, July 20, 2005

ZeallSoft has released FunPhotor v.3.5, a fun-filled Windows application that lets you blend your family portraits with well known artwork to create comical images. With a few short steps, you can add your face to the carved granite US Presidents on Mount Rushmore, put your portrait on a $100 bill, or create all sorts of gag gifts for your friends.

The software has more than 100 templates that include the Mona Lisa, a bodybuilder, or the US President speaking from his official podium. You can also build your own custom templates.

FunPhotor goes beyond the standard "cut-and-paste" process, by using a custom mask. The mask determines the size, shape, and location of the portrait that you're adding to the movie poster, sports scene, cartoon, or other template artwork. You can then use the blur tool to blend the edges of your picture into the template.

Select a photo from your hard drive, or from your video camera. You can move, zoom, flip, and rotate your picture. You can adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation. After you've blended your family portrait with the template, you can add custom text. Select the font, set it to normal, bold, or italic, and choose the size, color, and transparency.

The built-in email program lets you send your final images to your friends and colleagues. You can save images in all popular Internet formats, including JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and BMP.

ZeallSoft FunPhotor v.3.5 runs under Windows 98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003, costs $29.95(US) for a single-user license, and may be purchased securely online from http://www.funphotor.com/. You can download a free 7-day trial version from the same web site.

MyPhotoPipe Revolutionizes Digital-to-Paper Photo Service

by SteveMonday, July 11, 2005

MyPhotoPipe.com is a new service that allows people to upload their digital photos, and get professional quality 4x6 prints mailed back to them, as early as next day.

What MyPhotoPipe offers that other similar service don't, is that it's very fast, easy, and no frills. Each print costs 19 cents, and if you upload them by 5:00pm PST, you'll get your prints the next day.

MyPhotoPipe is also a photo-sharing site so that your friends and family members can browse the photos and order prints. While most other photo sites offer the same service, MyPhotoPipe lets them browse without having to sign-up or register.
